Minister in the Presidency Jeff Hadebe has out his name in the list of politicians who will be contesting for the presidency positions. Hadebe says there will be a paradigm shift if he is elected to be president of the African National Congress. The minister told a Johannesburg based publication that he stands a better chance that the other candidates to be elected as the next ANC president. This has come as various other leaders which include Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa, Lindiwe Sisulu and Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma have put their names as possible candidates to be elected for the top position. He has indicated that he is ready to serve as the ANC president.
Explaining what make him the more eligible of the candidates, Hadebe stated that “I have the political background and experience in government.” He also claimed that there will be a paradigm shift in the ANC should he be elected. “The paradigm shift in the organisation is necessary. The ANC needs to work on its development.”
The minister in the presidency also touched on the possibility of a female president saying that the branches of the ruling party must be allowed to decide for themselves if they want a male or female president. He also called on those campaigning for positions in the party not to resort to “dirty tricks” in a bid to boost their ambitions.
