JOHANNESBURG- The Johannesburg High Court has given the media a deadline of until the middle of next month to apply to have trial against Sandile Mantsoe broadcast.

Mantsoe did make a brief appearance on Monday on murder charges but the state was granted another postponement and the trial is expected to start on the 16th of April.

He is accused of killing his girlfriend Karabo Mokoena, burning her body and dumping it at a Lyndhurst veld.

Two media houses did approach the court earlier this month to have the trial broadcast.

Judge Colleen Collis stated last month that matter was schedule to be heard on the 14th of March but none of the parties appeared.

The state will oppose the application, initialing saying they would not oppose it, whilst the defence said it will oppose the application.
