Kaizer Chiefs defender on the brink of PSL and club record

Kaizer Chiefs’ defender Eric Mathoho is on the brink of securing his status as a club legend and setting an incredible club and PSL record in the process.

By the time the season is over, the Amakhosi veteran defender will have completed a full decade of service to Chiefs.

Ten years of dedication to Naturena, joining the likes of Itumeleng Khune, Willard Katsande and Simphiwe Tshabalala among others.

Mathoho joined the Glamour Boys from Bloemfontein Celtic in 2015.

He went on to win the league and cup double in his first season at the club. He earned the nickname “The Tower” for his dominance in the air, asserting his authority in the set piece.

Adding to his illustrious career at Naturena, he further went on to win the MTN8 in 2015.

However, this would be their last major trophy. Chiefs has gone through a seven-year trophy drought.

Yet, the defender remained loyal to the club, staying committed and giving 100% every match.

He is now on the brink of securing his club legacy and status as an Amakhosi legend.
