Kaizer Chiefs have had to contend with another injury – a severe 30cm burn – ruling out one of their top players.
Coach Stuart Baxter confirmed that Njabulo Ngcobo is injured. The Amakhosi defender and midfielder suffered a 30cm burn and can hardly walk.
“Ngcobo has some of the worst burns I’ve ever seen on a footballer. He has been out of training and he wasn’t selectable and he won’t be for a while,” Baxter said
“It would help him in that evaluation if he didn’t have a 12-inch burn that has ripped the skin off of him and he can hardly work,” explained Baxter.
Ngcobo is unable to train as he heals from his wound.
He was signed as a defender but had bee utilised as a midfielder by Baxter. Baxter and Bafana Bafana coach, Hugo Broos, are debating where the Chiefs man is better suited.
It’s unclear how Ngcobo got burned.
