Late Fellaini header seals the win, but condemns Wenger to another Old Trafford defeat

MANCHESTER- Arsene Wenger final match at Old Trafford ended in defeat, after Maroune Fellaini late header in extra time sealed a 2-1 entertaining win on Sunday.

Paul Pogba gave the red devils the lead in the 16 minute before former united player Henrik Mkhitaryn equalised for the Gunners, early in the second half.

A youthful Arsenal side gave a good showing but Wenger was still disappointed despite this, he said, “It was unfortunate because we had a positive performance but we paid for the fatigue in the final 20 minutes from players who are not used to it. They did very well for the most part. It is unfortunate that they could not get the reward for that,”

Mourinho praised United’s improved performances this season, he said, “I think if we finish second it’s the first time for five years, since Sir Alex left. Okay, progress, progress at many levels, but not enough to be first instead of second, and not enough to win the Champions League instead of the Europa League.

“But enough to be stable, win some trophies, reach some finals, but we need more.”

Mourinho added every trophy is important, he said, “I think we always say the most important is the one you win.

“When I won the Champions League I say the Champions League is most important for me. When I won the league, the league were more important for me.

“And when I won nothing, I said winning is not that important.”
