
LONDON- Nemanji Matic midfielder for Manchester United late stoppage time volley earned a stunning win for the team, the team was two goals down to win 3-2 at Selhurst and climbed back to second place, on Monday.
Crystal Palace have never beaten United in the Premier League, they took the lead 11 minutes into the first half as Andros Townsend strike deflected off United defender Victor Lindelof to go past goalkeeper David de Gea.
The host had a 2-0 lead after three minutes, with Patrick van Annholt fired past de Gea to place the home side in the driving seat.
Defender Chris Smalling pulled a goal back for United after a Valencia cross, as the defender headed in seven minutes later.
United equalised in the 76 minute after striker Romelu Lukaku netted in from Sanchez effort that hit the cross bar.
Man of the moment Matic said, “It was a nice goal,” “I am happy for the team, not because I scored but because we won and picked up the three points. We showed character after going 2-0 down and they had the crowd behind them.”
“We are delighted to have turned it around. Every point matters and it’s so important to win games like this.”
United are now 16 points behind log leaders Manchester City, second on the log.
