JOHANNESBURG- The Hawks have confirmed they have carried out a raid at the Gupta home in Saxonwold.
Hawks spokesperson Hangwani Mulaudzi: “We can confirm that we are having an operation in Saxonwold, at the Gupta family compound, where our members are currently busy. We do not want to divulge more as to what is transpiring there due to the sensitivity of the operation.”
The Hawks officers carried out the raid on Wednesday morning.
The Gupta family have been alleged to capture the state and benefit from being closely linked with the President and his sons, especially his son Duduzane Zuma who is alleged to largely benefit from misappropriation of state funds.
Former public protector Thuli Mandosela revealed in her state capture report that several government ministers where summoned by the Gupta brothers to their compound with several meetings to taking place there.
