London celebrates religious diversity

London – Award-winning photographer Katie Wagget has spent three years capturing people in the clothes they wear to worship. The idea was sparked by the rise of divisive narratives and xenophobic hate crimes around her community.

Wagget has been approaching people from diverse faiths on Sundays as they leave their places of worship. This was a way to celebrate London’s religious diversity.

She has now published a book called Sunday Best. “Ultimately, the series is a celebration of the plurality of voices and freedom of lifestyles that make London unique,” Wagget said.

“The project is an optimistic outlook at a time when faith is more important than ever,” she added.
