Lupita Nyong’o to star in Trevor Noah’s biopic

LOS ANGELES-  Trevor Noah best selling book ‘Born a Crime: Stories From A South African Childhood” is going to be made into a movie starring Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o as Trevor mom in the film adaption.

Lupita who is riding a high with the box office and critically acclaimed success of Marvel’s, Black Panther, will play Trevor Noah’s mom, Patricia.

The book details Trevor Noah life during the apartheid era, especially being born as as mixed race child with a mother being a black Xhosa woman and his father a white Swiss man. His mother strength, the huge influence she had on his life is highlighted in the book, as she raised her mixed race son during apartheid era in South Africa.

Sharing the exciting news on his social media he said, “My mom is a powerful woman who could easily be one of the beautiful soldiers in Wakanda. So it’s beyond a perfect fit that she would be portrayed on the big screen by the radiant and regal Lupita Nyong’o. I’m beyond excited.”

Lupita was also shared her excitement as she is too play Trevor’s mom in the film, she said, “When I read Trevor Noah’s ‘Born A Crime,’ I could not put the book down. Excited to announce that I will be starring in and producing its feature film adaptation!”
