Johannesburg – Suspended ANC secretary-general, Ace Magashule, says charges against him are politically motivated.
Magashule said it has nothing to do with the law.
He and his 15 co-accused appeared briefly in court on Wednesday.
They are facing 70 charges of theft, corruption and money laundering. The case relates to a multi-million-rand asbestos tender when he was Premier of the Free State.
The trial has been postponed to 19 October.
