CAPE TOWN- Khaya Tonjeni spokesperson for Eastern Cape (EC) police has said that killers must be arrested before the end of the week.
What has been described as a tragic day for the country, when our men and women police officers were killed in a space of a few hours by two separate shootings on Wednesday Morning.
The first was in the Eastern Cape where a massive manhunt is underway for attackers who killed five police officers and a former solider were killed in a police station.
A senior Hawks team has been assigned to the case.
Tonjeni has said a special task team of experienced detectives and Hawks members are hot on the heels of the suspects.
His adding pressure for the suspects to be arrested,
“We will go out and look for the perpetrators, we will also continue to offer quality services to the people of eNgcobo.”
Fikile Mbalula visited the police station on Wednesday and described the incident as barbaric and horrifying. But the Mbalula has called for calm and asked residents with any information to tell the police in eNgcobo.
In Pretoria on Wednesday, another police officer was killed, as three robbers broke into his home and killed him as he was sleeping.
