Johannesburg – Teko Modise feels the lockdown will only serve to reenergise Kaizer Chiefs and could spur them to win the Absa Premiership title.
Chiefs entered the lockdown with four points ahead of Mamelodi Sundowns. Should the PSL be able to play until its completion, Chiefs only has eight more games to play before the end of the current campaign.
Modise feels Chiefs can get the wins they need.
“I think this break is good for them because they will have fresher legs,” Modise said.
“I think that’s what they needed. It’s a good time for them to reflect and look at what they need to do to maintain their spot at the top because there’s only a few games left in the season.”
However, he did admit that it won’t be easy to win the PSL.
“Maybe if they can win four or five games in a row, that would seal the title for them,” he said.
“But they have to beat the guys they are competing with, so that’s going to be tough,” explained Modise
