Johannesburg – Pitso Mosimane’s agency MT Sports has issued a scathing statement to Mamelodi Sundowns following the abuse their client was subjected to on Al Ahly’s arrival in South Africa.
Mosimane received insults from a section of Sundowns fans in what looked like a well-orchestrated move by those who formed part of the group.
On Sunday, the Brazilians issued a statement apologising to Al Ahly and “those associated with the club” without the mention of Mosimane despite being the victim of the insults by their fans.
This has led to MT Sports, led by Mosimane’s wife Moira Tlhagale to come down heavily on the Tshwane giants.
The agency says Sundowns has not apologised to Mosimane, and MT Sports rejected a statement issued by the Brazilians, saying it was a ‘general statement’.
MT Sports added that they were aware of the people who never appreciated Mosimane as a Sundowns coach during his stay at the club.
It also said those are the people within the club itself who always wanted to destabilise Mosimane and the work he did at Sundowns.
Mosimane delivered 11 major trophies in his almost eight seasons at Sundowns, including CAF Champions League and CAF Super Cup in 2016 and 2017 respectively.
