‘Mourinho Was Man Utd’s Problem, Not Pogba’

Mathias Pogba has insisted Jose Mourinho was the problem for his brother’s Paul poor relationship with the sacked Manchester United boss.

Paul had a troublesome relationship with Mourinho and was even striped of the vice-captaincy before ending up on the bench in Mourinho’s final two Premier League games before being sacked.

His brother has now spilled the beans on the United record-signing’s relationship with the former coach.

“The problem was Mourinho, right down the line. In the locker room, outside the locker room…everything,” Mathias Pogba told RMC Sport.

“I know my brother, and you tell him, go, play, the rest, he will do it.”

After Paul Pogba has scored four goals and assisted another four in four Premier League games since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over from Mourinho, his brother, Mathias also hinted that the Portuguese coach did not show the United midfielder enough respect.

“From what we see of Mourinho, he always wants to be the maestro – the centre of attention,” he added.

“Paul, he does not even calculate that aspect, you respect him, he will respect you, you trust him, he will perform for you in big matches.”

Mathias himself joined French third division club Tours FC in September and has since made three appearances for the club.
