
HARARE- President Emmerson Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe has requested a meeting with former president Robert Mugabe.
The two former allies are going to meet however no details have been given when and where.
Mugabe expressed his displeasure of his removal at his private 94th birthday party celebration in his home with friends and family and disclosed that Mnangagwa requested a meeting.
He said, “He requested for a meeting and promised to bring along other leaders (from Zanu PF) so that we could talk.”
Mugabe added that he would not hold back when they meet and would tell Mnangagwa that he and the military acted illegally and lied to the people during his removal.
Mugabe disagrees that the coup was bloodless, he said, “People were injured‚ some were killed.”
Chairperson of the AU Faki Mahamat was in Zimbabwe last week on a fact-finding mission, he meet with Mugabe who told him he was forced to leave, as he feared for his family lives and the constant harassment.
“I was pressured by the army to resign; I did so in order to avoid conflict and bloodshed in my country,” he added.
