
Nigeria – Nigeria’s first combat helicopter pilot, Tolulope Arotile, has died from injuries sustained in a road accident, announced the Nigerian Air Force.
The officer died on Tuesday. The road accident occurred at an air force base in Kaduna, although the date the accident happened was not specified.
Arotile was commissioned to the air force in September 2017.
“During her short but impactful stay in the service, late Arotile contributed significantly to the efforts to rid the North Central States of armed bandits and other criminal elements by flying several combat missions under Operation GAMA AIKI in Minna, Niger State,” said the Nigerian Air Force in a tweet.
