CHATSWORTH – Democratic Alliance (DA) leader Mmusi Maimane called on the police service to be bolstered in the wake of nine-year-old Sadia Sukhraj’s death during a botched Durban hijacking.
Sukhraj was buried on Tuesday afternoon, a day after she was shot in the stomach near her Shallcross, Durban, home.
Maimane speaking at his capacity as a pastor spoke during the procession offered a short prayer over Sadia Sukhraj’s open casket before she was taken to her final resting place.

He added that this is one crime that the DA wants to ensure never happens again.
He said, “I’ll be taking this matter to Parliament… to say that as we usher in Child Protection Week, what kind of society are we going to live in when our children are being killed in this manner?”
