JOHANNESURG – The new Nokia 2 has finally landed in South Africa. The handset will be exclusively available through Vodacom at retailers nationwide. This might not sit well with most, but the handset does cost just R1 699.
The phone has a 5inch display with a LTPS LCD HD display. Beneath that display sits a Qualcomm Snapdragn 212 chipset that is equipped with a quadcore CPU running a 1.3GHz and 1GB of RAM.
The good news about this devise is that you get LTE connectivity, WiFi, Bluetooth and an 8MP snapper at the back with a 5MP camera up front. Those are all pretty standard features for a smartphone in 2017 but this one costs considerably less than most phones.
Good news again for consumers, HMD Global are touting the Nokia 2’s battery life. Equipped with a 4 100mAh battery HMD Global says the Nokia 2 will last two days on a single charge. Something to also excite the consumers, the Nokia 2 will have support for Android Oreo (8.0) when that operating system rolls out to the masses.
For now, it looks like a nice little handset for a nice price, we hope it performs well too.
