Numsa ends ArceloMittal strike, signs wage deal

Johannesburg – The two-week wage increase strike at ArceloMittal is over.

Metalworkers union, Numsa, has come to a wage deal with the company.

It comes just days after the company lost a bid to interdict Numsa’s strike at all of its plants. Numsa was demanding a 10% wage hike.

However, it is now agreed to an above-inflation 6.5% increase.

ArceloMittal has also agreed to a R5,000 ex-gratia payment to all its workers.
