If you have plans to send your child to a private school, you might want to be aware that the fee bill could run over a quarter of a million rand.

Research conducted by Discovery that was released towards the end of 2017 revealed that it would cost as much as R2.2m to send one child to a private school from crèche up to the end of tertiary education, as reported by Finweek.

But before thinking about funding for your child’s entire schooling, focus on getting through 2018 first. Fin24 has compiled a list of some of the country’s elite private schools and their fees.

St. Andrew’s College

About: The Anglican boarding school is in Grahamstown, EC. It was founded in 1855 and it provides education for boys from pre-primary to matric.

Roedean School (SA)

About: The girls’ school in Johannesburg was founded in 1903, as a sister school to Roedean in Brighton, England. It provides education for pupils from Grade R to matric.

At most, fees range between R80 234 to R265 468
