Pretoria Girl Cheats Death Twice

Bianca Jenkinson was hit by a motorbike while trying to escape a grass cutter, on Saturday.

The City of Tshwane will conduct investigations against the grass cutter who allegedly threatened the 13-year-old Bianca with a grass trimmer.

The girl suffered injuries such as a bruised eye, scraped hips, shoulder and knees as well as a broken nose, after she was hit by a motorbike running from the grass cutter.

Jenkinson explained that the accident happened when she and her older sister, Dominic, and their 17-year-old friend were sent to the shops on Saturday afternoon. That is when they came across three grass cutters, working on the pavement. When Bianca asked the three men to turn of the machines so she could pass, as she was scared, they laughed at her.

“I was really scared, but I tried to walk past them and that is when one of them turned and started chasing me with the grass trimmer. That is the last thing I remember,” she said.

The friend reported that Bianca was hit by a motorcycle as soon as she ran away, when a car approached. “I didn’t even think. I saw that the driver had not seen the accident and was going to run Bianca over; so I jumped into the road and shouted at him to stop,” the friend said, saving Bianca’s life.
