Ramaphosa: We need to realign SSA’s work with state objectives

Johannesburg – President Cyril Ramaphosa is at the State Capture Inquiry explaining his actions as president.

When asked why he brought the State Security Agency under the presidency, Ramaphosa said the SSA needed to be realigned with the objectives of the state.

The president said the agency is an asset to the nation and should not be utilised to serve the interests of factions of the governing party.

“It’s an agency that has been docked with a lot of controversy and trouble and as I said earlier, it’s got a lot of good people in it and we just need to realign its work properly with the objectives of our developmental state,” said Ramaphosa.

Ramaphosa is expected to continue with his testimony on Friday.
