Johannesburg – Rand Water has appealed to Gauteng consumers to continue to use water sparingly.
This as they wait for reservoirs to fill up after this week’s 54-hour infrastructure upgrade.
While the work on raw water pipelines in Vereeniging was completed on Wednesday, some reservoirs have only filled to levels of roughly 0,6 meters. At least 1.5 meters is required before water can be pumped to further towers.
Suburbs in the south and west of the city will be most affected until levels can be restored.
