RANDBURG- A SuperSpar store in Randburg at a shopping mall in Bergdorn has burnt down in the early hours of Wednesday morning according to Johannesburg spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi.
Mulaudzi said firefighters were called to the scene at 01:30am.
“On arrival we found that a Spar shop was well alight. We managed to contain the fire to only Spar. No other injuries were reported.”
Photos of firefighter dowsing flames and smoke coming from the shop popped up around the social media.
It took three fire trucks to stop the fire after a couple hours.
Mulaudzi said the damaged of the shop is extensive and the entire roof was affected.
But shops next to the store were not affected and an investigation has been opened into the cause of fire.
