Record fuel price increase predicted

Johannesburg – South Africans are urged to brace themselves as the price of petrol is about to go even higher.

According to the Automobile Association, you can expect record increases next month.

The Central Energy Fund said current data projects fuel to reach R24 a litre and diesel around R23,60 a litre.

However, the AA notes that the price of oil is currently see-sawing significantly, so consumers may get some relief at the pumps.

The main cause of the increase is Russia’s invasion of Ukraine which sent oil prices skyrocketing to record levels.
