Motorists are expected to have a good start to the new year as another fuel price cut is on the cards.
The price of petrol will drop by more than R1.20 on Wednesday.
Diesel and paraffin prices will also reduce.
The Energy Department says the reductions are due to the rand-dollar exchange, and the decrease in the average Brent crude oil price.
The fuel price was hiked by just over 15 percent over the year. It affected food inflation and transport-related costs.
Based on the current local and international factors, the fuel prices for January 2019 will be adjusted to decrease across the board.
93 octane will be decreased by R1.22 and 95 octane will be decreased by R1.23.
The diesel price will fall by R1.53 and paraffin will go down by R1.23.
The fuel prices schedule for the different zones will be published on 31 December 2018.
