RS Component, Electrocomponents trading brand, conducted a research, it revealed the cities with the most millionaires per square kilometre (km²).
According to their report, millionaires around the world have a combined wealth of up to $63.5-trillion (R894-trillion).
These are the top five cities with the most millionaires per square kilometre:
1. GENEVA, SWITZERLAND
The French-speaking city has a total of 44,091 millionaires per square kilometre with 104,300 millionaires overall. Geneva is a global banking hub, with a GDP of $678.887bn(R9.5-trillion), according to the World Bank.
2. MONACO
With a population of only 38,695 according to the World Bank, the city of Monaco has a total of 34,840 millionaires per square kilometre.
3. SAN FRANCISCO, US
The San Francisco Bay Area has a total of 10,002 millionaires per square kilometre, with 180,300 millionaires in the city overall. According to Knight Frank Wealth Report 2018, San Francisco is the fourth-highest earning city, with households earning $250k (R3.5m) or more a year. The city is 122km².
4. ZURICH, SWITZERLAND
The largest city in Switzerland has a total of 8,367 millionaires per square kilometre. There are 109,200 millionaires in the city overall.
5. PARIS, FRANCE
The city of love and the capital of France has 7,085 millionaires per square kilometre, with 110,900 millionaires in total.
Others in cities on the most millionaires per square kilometre list include Tel Aviv in 6th position, New York (9th) , London (18th) and Tokyo (29th).
