SA lockdown: AfriForum calls for an end to curfew

Johannesburg – It has been 20 months since the start of South Africa’s lockdown and curfews were imposed.

However, some groups have had enough.

AfriForum has written to CoGTA Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, calling for an end to the curfew.

The group has given her until Friday to respond.

AfriForum’s lawyer, Daniel Eloff, said the group wants to know the reasoning and effectiveness of the curfew.

“In terms of administrative law, we have a right to rational, reasonable, and informed decision-making by our government and that’s simply what we’re questioning,” said Eloff.
