Johannesburg – South African Airways (SAA) said on Tuesday it had signed a partnership deal with Emirates airline.
This deal will result in the companies expanding existing codeshare agreement and they will also work on other areas of cooperation.
“The expansion of our commercial relationship will further strengthen key focus areas of the implementation of our turnaround plan,” SAA Chief Executive Vuyani Jarana said.
President Cyril Ramaphosa has been struggling to stabilise the state-run firms like SAA. The company has not made any profit since 2011.
The company interim chief financial officer told the Parliament in November that it needs R3.5 billion for procurement over the next 4 months.
