Safety tips for online shoppers this Black Friday

With Black Friday so near, cybercriminals are also formulating plans to scam online shoppers to enter or register their credit card details on unsecured website.
Here are the tips for online shoppers to use during the Black Friday shopping:
Consumers should be sure that the URL is legal. They should think before they share their personal details.
They should look out for dodgy URL’s. Consumers should always lookout for the all the little yet important details like https:// (as opposed to http://). The “s” is very important because it stands for secure.
When consumers are expecting their goods to be delivered, they should always track their goods. Should it happen that they get an email or sms from a courier or retail company they have never used before, they shouldn’t click on the link. Instead they should directly type the courier’s website address each time they wish to track their goods.
If a consumer suspects that there is something wrong, they should immediately report it to the police. Many of these cases are not reported. They should also contact their bank as soon as possible so that their cards can be cancelled immediately.
