Johannesburg – Sassa has announced that from May, disability and older person’s grants will be paid over two days from the fourth of each month, while all other grants will be paid from the sixth.
These dates have been changed to avoid the month-end rush at malls and shopping centres. A video went viral showing young people pushing the elderly on the lines to get the payout at Dobsonville.
Sassa said pensioners will get their money from the fourth of each month starting from May. People are urged not to go and overcrowd payout outlets on the days in order to adhere to rules of the lockdown.
Beneficiaries are asked not to despair if you go on the first of the month and not get the payment, it will come but will only be a bit delayed.
