Johannesburg – Sassa has rejected claims that it is registering people for the R350 unemployment grant. The organisation has been trying to inform people not to believe false claims that were being shared by unknown sources that Sassa has opened registration.
They claim that the system is still being worked on and that once the criteria for registration has been finalised, the public will be notified.
Sassa officials have announced that people should not go to their offices to register as the offices are currently closed following the announcement of the national lockdown.
Sassa, however, still calls upon people in need of food to register by calling their numbers in order to get assisted with food. People are encouraged not to share misleading information on any platform.
