Search for missing plane de-escalated

Kwa Zulu Natal-  Police said on Sunday search operations for a pilot and his light aircraft that disappeared over KwaZulu-Natal last week have been de-escalated.

This decision follows after three days of aerial‚ maritime and land-based searches‚ headed by the Aeronautical Rescue Co-ordination Centre (ARCC).

Police also confirmed that Shoreline patrols will be conducted by Isimangaliso Wetland Park for the following week.

The light aircraft went missing on Thursday and search and rescue personnel have been looking for the light aircraft ever since.

The plane took off on Wednesday from Newcastle‚ bound for the coast‚ but has not returned.
