Shabba: We understand Komphela’s Vision

CAPE TOWN- Long term player for Kazier Chiefs, midfielder Siphiwe Tshabalala  has praised coach Steve Komphela for the work he has done, by blending experience and youth into the team.

The likes of Tshabalala, Itumeleng Khune, Bernard Parker, Tshepo Masilela, Willard Katsande and others bring huge experience to the side but the young talents such as Ryan Moon, Siyabonga Ngezana, Wiseman Meyiwa and Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya have brought excitement to the team and the league.

“We’re heading in the right direction with the squad that we have – a mixture of experience and a lot of youth,” he was quoted saying by KickOff.

“There’s a bright future in the team, looking at the long-term, but what also matters is here and now, and the situation we’re currently facing – to win games and trophies.

“Hence I say, we’re not there yet and we are a work in progress, but we still have a chance to bring silverware through the Nedbank Cup and the league.”

“With regards to the coach, I think he’s done well in terms of trying to bring the team together, and promoting and giving youngsters an opportunity.

“As a team, we see what he’s doing and his vision. So, it’s us who have to buy into that and turn the hard work that he’s put in into rewards, by winning the league or the Nedbank Cup.”

Tshabalala has emphasized they still in the mix of winning silverware this season. Chiefs play Cape Town City on Saturday at FNB Stadium for a PSL fixture.

Kickoff is at 8:pm.
