SOCIAL MEDIA MOCKS ENGLAND AFTER WORLD CUP SEMIFINAL EXIT

Luzhniki Stadium, Russia- Social media wasted no time to mock the English football team after their heartbreaking  2-1 semifinal loss to Croatia at the Luzhniki Stadium on Wednesday night.

England took an early lead in the first half in the fifth minute through defender Kieran Tripper, before winger Ivan Persevic equalised in the 68 minute in the second half.

The tie was sent into extra time, where Juventus and Croatian striker Mario Mandzukic scored the winner deep into the second half of extra time to set up a World Cup Final meeting with France in Moscow on Sunday.

Twitter was not kind to England’s defeat.

England fans famously coined the term, “Its coming home” throughout their World Cup campaign. Referring to the term that home of football is in England and that the trophy was returning home.
