
JOHANNESBURG- The group of 51 young South Africans stranded in China have returned back home on Monday morning after they were caught up in a a job teaching scam.
Chinese authorities confiscated their passports and the students were left stranded.
They were recruited by an agent who is currently being prosecuted for fraud, the students were sold that when they come to China they would teach in the country as English country.
The Chinese authorities said the students come to the country on study visa’s and this did not follow their immigration laws.
Department of International Relations and Cooperation (Dirco) worked with Chinese authorities to help the stranded teachers.
