Spurs Knocked out, as Juve go through

LONDON- There is nothing like experience when it comes to the Champions league knockout stages, and Juventus proved this when they come back to beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 and reach the Champions League quarter finals on Wednesday night.

The Italians, two time finalist in the last three champion league finals were completely outplayed by their counterparts in the first leg, after the two teams drew 2-2 in Turin Italy three weeks ago.

But in the second leg, trailing 3-2 on aggregate, the Italian club side come back with strikes by Argentinian strike duo Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala in three minutes sent them through 4-3 on aggregate.

Son scored for Spurs in the first half as the team was in control but two defensive lapses cost them the match.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino thought his team should of gone through, he told reporters, “In both legs we deserved more. “In less than three minutes we conceded two goals – two big mistakes – and that is why we are out,”

He continued, “We played fantastic football until that first goal and we dominated. Of course, we are very disappointed but it is part of growing. We will keep going.”

Giorgio Chiellini who is part of the back four that has a combined 175 Champions league appearances said that experience was key for the win.

He said, “We said keep calm and the chance will arrive,” he said. “Experience is important and we used ours tonight.”
