Sundowns star celebrates goal to honour Bushiri

Midfielder for Mamelodi Sundowns, one of South Africa’s biggest soccer teams, decided to celebrate his stunning goal during his teams’ match again Bloemfotein Celtic over the weekend, by publicly honouring South Africa-based Malawian prophet Shepherd Bushiri of the Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) calling him ‘God’s true servant’.

The star, Tiya Mabunda, has even attributed his success on the pitch to the famous preacher’s prayers and intercessions.

Mabunda—who scored an amazing goal leading to his team 4-1 win—was over the moon brandishing, to the cameras, the ‘Major 1’ inscription on his Addidas boot. Major 1 is an alias of Prophet Bushiri.

He, then, attended a church service on Sunday at Pretoria Showgrounds in South Africa where the ECG leader gave him a gift of a Rolex wrist watch.

The Prophet further declared that Mabunda will be a redhot soccer item in 2018.

Mabunda—whose team has now extened their unbeaten run to seven matches in the Absa Premiership—has already been 2017’s hot item in South Africa’s soccer circles with his coach PitsoMosimane constantly singing his praise.

After the BloemfoteinCelitc match, Mosimane was full of praise for Tiyani Mabunda following their 4-1 win.

“He [Mabunda] is unbelievable. He cuts so many balls in the midfield. He steals so many balls and he plays them forward,” Mosimane told SuperSport TV.

“He stole one or two and played them forward today. His passing is unbelievable. I can see in the goal that he scored, he made another steal in the midfield.

He has a way of doing this, people think that he is alone and then he steals it,” said the Sundowns mentor.
