SUPER RUGBY RETURNS

JOHANNESBURG-  The opening round of the Super Rugby takes place this weekend and the competition is expected to be tougher this year.

The defending champions The Crusaders from New Zealand are the favorites to retain their title, as the main South African challenger the Emirates Lions have a chance to finally win the title.

The Lions have made two finals in a row and have had a consistent run of beating internal opposition, particularly in derbies against South African teams.

South African teams are competing in a league that has been dominated by Australian and New Zealand teams, and a growing list of teams from Japan and Argentina coming into the fray.
