JOHANNESBURG- A 40-year-old man, who allegedly raped a woman before using a heated tablespoon to sear her genitals, has been arrested in Tembisa, the Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) said on Wednesday.
Chief Superintendent Wilfred Kgasago said the alleged rape occurred two weeks ago.
He said, “After raping the victim, the man apparently heated a tablespoon and burnt his victim’s private parts.”
The suspect was arrested on Tuesday in Tsenolong Section, Tembisa, after a unknown person contacted members of the EMPD’s community liaison unit to saying that the alleged rapist had been spotted.
The alleged rapist is expected to appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court on charges of rape and assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm.
The 33-year-old victim has been discharged from hospital and is recovering at home.
