East London – The Eastern Cape Liquor Board has shut down Enyobeni tavern in East London.
The board’s chief inspector Zola Tyikwe said once investigations by the police have been completed, it will lay criminal charges against the owner.
Meanwhile, tavern owner Vuyokazi Ndevu said the situation is very saddening.
She has sent condolences to the families of those who’ve lost loved ones at her establishment.
The bodies of 21 teenagers were found there on Sunday morning.
It’s unclear how the victims died.
