
LIMPOPO – The wife of a deceased teacher was arrested by the police in Limpopo, along with two other men in connection with the murder of her husband in August.
Lieutenant Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe, the spokesperson of the Limpopo police said that the teacher’s wife, 37, her boyfriend, 42 and the alleged hitman, 34, were arrested this week.
Daniel Ramaipadi, 53, a teacher and head of department at a local school was shot dead by an unknown man at this own home in Ga-Motodi village outside Burgersfort in August. His vehicle was also stolen but later recovered at a short distance from the scene of the murder.
Lieutenant Colonel Ngoepe stated that the three were arrested in what was a “consistent and relentless effort to fight serious and violent crimes” by a special task team made up of elite provincial detectives and provincial crime intelligence.
The wife of the deceased, Vuyela Ramaipadi had previously appeared in court of the Praktiseer Magistrate Court on a charge of murder. She was denied bail and is expected to appear in court again next week. Her sidekicks will also appear in court on the same day.
