Tesla to slash 9 percent of jobs: report

SAN FRANCISCO – Tesla Inc is planning to cut about nine percent of jobs across the company as reported by Bloomberg and Elon Musk boss of Tesla has confirmed this intention.

The cuts will not affect ability to reach Model 3 production targets in the coming months, the report said, giving no further details.

Some media reports have reported that Tesla will be cutting 3000 jobs.

Tesla boss Elon Musk said it was ‘ part difficult, but necessary’ as he made the intention clear last month.

The plans are intended to help the electric maker decrease their costs without affecting their production of their Model 3 sedan.

Musk Tweeted:

Musk said the company will inform those who will be affected by the reorganization of the company:

He said, “We made these decisions by evaluating the criticality of each position, whether certain jobs could be done more efficiently and productively, and by assessing the specific skills and abilities of each individual in the company,’

‘As you know, we are also flattening our management structure to help us communicate better, eliminate bureaucracy and move faster.’

Musk has received increasing pressure from investors to ramp up production of their first affordable car model, the $35,000 (£25,000) Model 3.
