
Johannesburg – Just weeks after returning to set, The River has had to shut down production after a crew member tested positive for coronavirus.
Tshedza Picture, the production house behind the show, sent a statement confirming that they have halted shooting and call cast and crew have need requested to self-isolate while the necessary health protocols are being implemented.
In a statement, Phathu Makwarela said since the resumed production on 1 May 2020, all the necessary lockdown health guidelines were implemented on set.
“After we received the news of the colleague testing positive, we immediately asked the cast and crew that came into contact with the member to go into self-isolation. They will soon avail themselves to health authorities for testing, in line with government directives,” said Makwarela.
The river along with other South African productions went on production breaks due to the national lockdown.
