JOHANNESBURG- The ANC top brass will be have a two day meeting party spokesperson Pule Mabe said.
The national executive committee meeting will be on the backdrop of president Cyril Ramaphosa possible reshuffle in cabinet.
The ANC top committee is holding its first meeting after Jacob Zuma resigned on the 14th of February. The meeting was confirmed to journalists via text message.
The main issues that have to be addressed is, who will be Ramaphosa deputy president, will the finance minister remain in his position after he delivered his budget speech on Wednesday. Malusi Gigaba announced VAT increase of 1% to 15%, and a budget that focused on tackling spending habits in government, in a bid to stabilize debt and to prevent rating agencies further downgrades.
Ramaphosa has promised to revive the ailing South African economy, tackle unemployment, job creation and be tough on corruption.
It will become tougher for opposition parties to battle with a ANC that can meet promises, as the national elections take place in 2019, as the Zuma administration was beleaguered by corruption, ailing economy and continuous scandals.
