Trevor Noah launches R4-million education fund, raises over R156,000 in 48 hours

New York- SA comedian Trevor Noah is hopeful to reach the mark of R4-million for SA education in funding, saying he is willing to put in R2-million from his own money.

Trevor, through his charity the Trevor Noah Foundation, launched a crowdfunding initiative to raise R4-million to pay for underprivileged matriculants to study further. The fund will also help teachers.

Noah said that the fund hopes to “achieve a 100% transition rate of the matric students into continued education”.

Noah pledged that he will match every rand that is donate, which will see him pay out R2 million. People who want to donate can click here  to find out more.

The initiative has seen them raise over R156 000 is over 48 hours.
