Trump decision on Iran is ‘psychological warfare’: Rouhani

Tehran- US President Donald Trump’s decision on Tuesday to pull out of the nuclear deal is an act of “psychological warfare” against Iran, President Hassan Rouhani said.

Rouhani responding to Trump’s decision in a televised speech said he wished to discuss Trump’s decision with the European, Russian and Chinese parties to the 2015 deal.

The Iranian president appeared just minutes after Trump announced the historic decision to withdraw the United States from the agreement.

Rouhani hoped days before to salvage the deal as much as possible with the help of the other parties, such as Britain, France, Germany, China, Russia and the European Union, were strongly against Washington’s decision to pull out.

French president Emmanuel Macron’s office said he was not informed by the US President’s and the White gave no indication of what he planned to say about the Iran nuclear deal later on Tuesday.

Macron’s office responded to a Reuters question, where they denied a story by the New York Times which said Trump had informed Macron the United States will be pulling out of the agreement.
