Ohio, US- Stormy Daniels, porn star who allegedly had an affair with US president Donald Trump, was arrested for allegedly allowing a customer to touch her in a non-sexual way while on stage.
Daniels is currently locked in a legal battle with Trump over their alleged affair, her arrest on Wednesday happened while she was performing at a strip club in what her lawyer described as a “politically motivated” setup.
Her lawyer, Michael Avenatti wrote on his Twitter account, that the incident happened in Columbus, Ohio while she was performing an act she has done at nearly 100 strip clubs across America.
“This was a setup & politically motivated. It reeks of desperation. We will fight all bogus charges,” Avenatti wrote.
“They are devoting law enforcement resources to sting operations for this? There has to be higher priorities!!!,” he added.
Avenatti later tweeted that he expects Daniels to be released on bail “shortly” and charged with a misdemeanor for “touching.”
“We will vehemently contest all charges,” he wrote.
Stephanie Clifford, Daniels real name is suing Trump and his former personal lawyer Michael Cohen to nullify a 2016 non-disclosure agreement (NDA) preventing her from speaking out about the affair she says she had with Trump in 2006.
Just days before Trump won the election, Cohen paid Daniels $130,000 into her account, for exchange for her silence.
She hopes the NDA is thrown out because Trump never signed it.
