
TUNISIA – Tunisian born fashion designer, Azzedine Alaia, who was very much known for his figure fitting dresses, has been laid to rest in his hometown said Sidi Bou.
Tunisians which included government officials came in their numbers to pay their last respect to the fashion icon. Alaia died from a heart attack on Saturday November 18.
Alaia became world famous in the 1980s with tight black shorts and back zipping skirt which became some of his signature styles of designs.
These designs helped to define the confidence female silhouette of the time.
Alaia was secretive and known as a fashion rebel. He was based in Paris, France, for decades but he did not take part in the French capital’s seasonal fashion frenzy nor did he take part in it flashy ad campaigns.
Instead Alaia showed privately in his own time.
Celebrities and people in the fashion industry paid their respect and tribute to the late Alaia on social media and other media platforms.
