Unplanned capacity loss unacceptably high says De Ruyter

Johannesburg – Eskom CEO Andre de Ruyter says the power utility is experiencing high unplanned capacity loss.

De Ruyter said there was adequate reserves to last the power utility until evening.

However, Eskom implemented stage 2 power cuts from 9pm until 5am on Tuesday.

This was to conserve and replenish emergency reserves.

Meanwhile, the CEO said underperforming executives will face the consequences. Those concerned will be notified soon.
